About Pratham Books
Pratham Books (www.prathambooks.org) is a not-for-profit children’s book publisher founded in 2004 with the mission to see ‘A Book In Every Child's Hand’. Their goal is to publish high-quality, affordable storybooks in multiple languages to support reading among children. Since their founding, they have published 7,000 books in 32 Indian languages, covering genres such as early readers, fiction, nonfiction, and educational topics like science, history, mathematics, and nature. Pratham has collaborated with many renowned authors and illustrators, and their books have received numerous awards.
Pratham has expanded their mission through technology with StoryWeaver a digital platform offering free access to thousands of multilingual stories, and Donate-a-Book, a crowdfunding platform that helps build libraries for children in need.

Areas of Partnership
The HT Parekh Foundation supported Pratham Books in the translation, dissemination, and creation of children’s books in multiple languages, with the project aimed at enriching the landscape of children’s literature and building libraries.
With this partnership, Pratham Books has translated existing children’s book titles in regional languages such as Assamese, Gujarati and Bangla and spoken languages like Gondi. These books have been disseminated across 200+ school and community libraries in different regions across India.
Currently, Pratham Books is translating children’s book titles in Assamese, Marathi and Kannada which will be distributed to library partners of H T Parekh Foundation in these regions and others in the library network.
