To ensure holistic development and sustainable transformation that span wide ranging areas of rural development and enterprise. They facilitate this through deep, large scale and long-term interventions in education and livelihoods in Yadgir and neighbouring districts in northern Karnataka. While keeping Education as a core area of focus, Kalike’s vision is to ensure holistic development and sustainable transformation that span wide ranging areas of rural development and enterprise. 

The partnership between Kalike and H T Parekh Foundation aims to strengthen 227 Gram Panchayat (GP) libraries across Koppal and Yadgir districts, Karnataka and involves:

1. 60 libraries will be developed as intensive libraries which will act as a platform to provide experiential learning to the 167 extensive libraries.

2. The Gram Panchayat librarians are trained in library activities and their delivery in the libraries, effective monitoring and mentoring skills, community connect and working with the Department officials etc. through regular workshops and reviews

3. Kalike works closely with the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RDPR)t in implementing the project.  RDPR will provide administrative support and leverage additional resources from the Gram Panchayat funds towards strengthening of GP libraries

4. Kalike has developed a course for Gram Panchayat Librarians in Kannada which will be audited by the 60 librarians from intensive Gram Panchayat libraries. Kalike is in discussion with the RDPR and Central University to explore the possibility of certification of the course for Librarians
